We just want to inform you that the black version of the blockbuster movie is coming on the Lifetime Network, October 7 2012. Although, we liked the original version very much, we think these African American women will add a twist to the movie. Steel Magnolias will feature these following celebrity actresses, according to Lifetime.com: Academy Award nominee, Queen Latifah as ‘M’Lynn’, Golden Globe and multiple Emmy-winner Alfre Woodard as ‘Ouiser,’ Tony Award winner Phylicia Rashad as ‘Clairee,’ Grammy winner Jill Scott as ‘Truvy,’ Adepero Oduye as ‘Annelle’ and Condola Rashad as ‘Shelby.’
This amazing new movie will become an all time favorite among African Americans classics. Finally, we get to see another black movie, since many black film makers have seemed ashamed to feature an all black cast, because America has now become extremely diverse. It is very nice to have a black movie like Steel Magnolias, because not only is the script a classic creation, but also even in this age of a lot of diverse families, we still have a lot of all cast white movies still being made in the 21st century.
